things that trigger anxiety attacks
what are these attack things?? anxiety?
i keep getting random attacks that consist of shortness of breath, , headaches and one of my arms shakes. these can last from 5 minutes to 2 hours. I get them while im at school, home , work sport and there is no trigger… that rules out anxiety right?
i get 1-2 a day roughly 3 days a week and they are frightening and feels like i cant regain breath..
any thoughts on what it could be my parents tell me its all phsycological but i cant help getting them!
well, i have suffered from anxiety attacks for about seven years now. attacks can range from small ones that can be controlled to full-blown one’s that make you think you are dying. it very well could be anxiety. you need to talk to a doctor and get them under control now before you start getting the one’s that make you think you’re dying!! or find out what else it could be IF that’s not it. but i do want to point out that anxiety does not have to have a trigger!!!! i mean it does, but sometimes it’s subconscious so you have no idea that it was triggered. one time, i was in target, just looking at make up. no biggie. no thoughts other than, “ooohh i like that”. lol! all of a sudden an attack came on, couldn’t breathe…all that jazz. anyways, because i knew what it was, i just left everything right there in the middle of the aisle and went to my car. i even had an attack just sitting at a red light once. so no, they don’t have to have a trigger. and what your parents say are right as far as psychological–that’s EXACTLY what anxiety is, lol. you just need to find out what’s causing them. again, i would talk to your regular doctor to begin with and go from there. something else you could do on you own that would really help is to keep a record. like a journal. nothing fancy. just if you have this happen again, note what time it was, when it was, how long it lasted and what you were doing. see if there is any pattern. maybe it’s at a certain time of the day or maybe it’s when you are around certain people… you never know. but i would definitely not overlook it. good luck!
